Coastal Escapade: Exploring the Beauty of Kuakata Sea Beach with Friends

Located in the Patuakhali district of Bangladesh, Kuakata is a coastal town that offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal. Known as the "Sagar Kannya" or the "Daughter of the Sea," Kuakata is a place where you can relax, unwind and soak in the beauty of the sea. I visited Kuakata Sea Beach with some friends in October 2019 and was amazed by the stunning natural beauty of the place.

Kuakata is approximately 320 km away from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The best way to reach Kuakata is by taking a bus or a private car. We decided to take a bus as it was more economical and also offered us the chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the countryside. The journey took us around 8-9 hours, and we reached Kuakata early in the morning.

As we stepped out of our bus, we were greeted by the stunning view of the Bay of Bengal. The sea was calm and inviting, and we could hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. We checked into our hotel and headed straight to the beach to witness the sunrise. It was a mesmerizing sight as the sun slowly rose above the horizon, casting a warm glow over the sea.

Kuakata is known for its panoramic view of the sea. The beach stretches for miles, and you can take long walks along the shore, watching the waves come and go. One of the unique features of Kuakata is that you can see both the sunrise and the sunset from the same spot, as it is located at the southernmost tip of Bangladesh.

We also visited the Buddhist temple located on the hilltop near the beach. The temple is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists, and offers a serene environment for meditation and contemplation.

Kuakata is famous for its seafood. The local fishermen catch fresh fish and seafood every day, and you can enjoy a variety of dishes made with these ingredients. We tried the famous Hilsa fish, which is a delicacy in Bangladesh. We also tried the prawns and crabs, which were equally delicious.

Kuakata is a hidden gem that is often overlooked by tourists. It is a place where you can relax, unwind and immerse yourself in the beauty of the sea. The stunning views, the fresh seafood, and the serene environment make it a perfect getaway for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. If you're planning a trip to Bangladesh, do not miss the opportunity to visit Kuakata.
